Sunday at the Lake

Left the boat at home and whet on the Donner's Yacht. Fun was had by all . I just can't get over how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful part of the Planet. here are a couple of pictures from our outing on the Lake.

Farmers market Saturday late morning

Well there wasn't a lot of produce at the market. We did pick up some fruit,
But we had a great time anyway. We got something to eat at Firken and then we hung out at Comma Coffee with Jeff, Kristy, Charlie ,Jason and Tasha.

When we left Comma we went back to were our Bikes were parked.... by the Market, and the only thing left in the parking Lot was our Bikes .
Well at least they were still there.

Lots a fun . ...

Going to stay out of the sun for the rest of the afternoon and then ride back downtown with Kim and Mark K. tonight, to look at some of the cool cars.

Friday Ride

Well needless to say It was hot . But I guess the good news is the smoke is all but gone.
Thank Goodness.
Well Lexi went for her shots today and I don't know if it was a good idea taking her on the ride this afternoon . But I did, every shaded area she found she laid down . That's just not Lu Lu . So we stopped quite a bite . Once we got to the top of Deer Run I put her shoes on because I thought the sand might have been to hot. After I put her Tennies on I started up Baldie Green But she didn't want anything to do with that hot Trail, she just stayed in the shaded area at the start so I turned around and we went up Ash Canyon Road to LuLu Lagoon.

Her shoes stayed on the rest of the ride and once she got use to them I think She enjoyed them . Lu hasn't worn them since the snow.

Well She is done Hasn't moved since we got back home.
I think the shots have a lot to do with the way she is acting .

I think she will be fine.

Looks like I missed a Epic Ride Saturday

From the pictures it looks like I missed a great ride up to the Flume and down to "The AC".
and the worst part about it was that I didn't get a call all day.
But I did get a ride in on Saturday. Lu and I left the house about 5 minutes after 9am Saturday morning hopping I would run into you guys before you left . I drove by Long around 9:08 but you guys had already left . So off to "The AC" we went . It was absolutely beautiful up there NO wind and it was about 80 degrees. I made it to the bottom of Baldy Green in my best time ever 16 minutes and 22 sec. nice . It did start to get hot on Baldy, but we found some shade to rest in. then we finished the loop. Thinking , Man those guys must just be lovin there ride up to Spooner right about now.

Saw another snake on CT riping across the trail . No rattles though.

I am really looking forward to riding with You guys soon .

Told Ya its not that bad ;)

Mark K made the climb up Jack Rabbit, for the first time . I have been telling him its not as bad as it looks .
So we went out last night just for an evening cruze around the west side . . some how I got him up on the collage bike path, hmmmm... don't know how we ended up there . But I suggested we try this trail right here next to VeCee canyon . We stopped a couple of times but he mad it . So good job Mark . See I told ya it wouldn't be that bad.

So I think once you know it wont kill you to make that climb . The trail starts calling you . So keep your eyes out for Mark K. in "The AC".

I want to go tomorrow don't think I will be able to pull it off. Keep me in the loop please!

Riding The A.C.

Crazy Day ,Man!
The only thing I can count on, is how nice the ride will be in the evening.
Well I guess I will miss the first big ride on the Rim and Flume trails this weekend .
Wouldn't ya know it ,I have ta work . I will be on call all weekend. That sucks "O" well, there will be more rides and more weekends.
I had so much going on today I totally forgot about trail work Wednesday tonight . As I was coming down from my ride this evening I ran into Oly and Jeff going up to finish the rest of the work we started last Wednesday. Sorry I missed it . Maybe next week.

Classic Fathers Day weekend at the Lake

Spent all weekend at Lake Shore Lodge .
A hidden gem of South Lake Tahoe. What a great place, it is right on the Beach at South Shore.

Brunch at The Becon Rest. was good Took a little long to get our food , but that just gave us time to gab, and then we all cruzed both the boats over to Emerald Bay and spent a breeze afternoon in the sun. Good Time Good Friends Good Food.

My evening Ride in The A.C. tonight...
Was tough, breezy and not enough energy in the fuel tank . It could of been a long weekend too. Don't know but its not that enjoyable when the body is not properly fueled for a ride. But ya can't beat the gym I work out in fresh air and killer stationary bikes, a I mean Non stationary bikes. Saw another snake But no rattle. It saw me coming and it took off in to a bush by the trail.
Still a good ride . Just need to fuel the body a little better.

Urban Evening ride

Well Mark K. and I rode pretty much all the way around Carson . We even crossed over Hwy 50 on the new closed overpass. That was cool until we got to the other end and what do ya know, it TURNS INTO A FREEWAY!! But we managed to get down the off ramp without being arrested or hit by a large truck . We finished our ride on the freeway bike path . Thanks Ann Mc. .. All and all it was a good 12 mile cruze.
Off to the lake this weekend . Staying at Lake Shore Inn with the
Donner Family . Should be a great time

Monday Ride

Rode the Loop with LuLu. It wasn't as hot as I thought it would be . Good ride all and all. Came across a bull snake (not a Rttl snk) on the rim side of 7steps . It was crossing the trail, so I stopped, Lu didn't even notice it. Once it saw me it took off into a bush. And off we went.









There is a Rattle snake awareness class this July it was in the paper this morning .

Here is the skinny:
The Nv Wildlife Fed.,Wild Life Foundation and the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of Reno are Teaming up to provide Rattle snake Avoidance Classes Begining at 8am . July 12,13 and 26th at Washoe Lake state Park. training is scheduled throughout the day.
Fees are $60.00 for the first dog; $50.00 for the second and $40.00 for subsequent dogs by the same owner . Dogs must be 6 month or older. Space is limited.

Nice Saturday Ride

Met another Mark and his two Boxers Molly and Hank up in "The AC" this morning. So Lu ,me Mark Molly and Hank rode the entire Loop , It was a great ride .

Thursday and Friday evenings

Well I haven't been up to The AC in two days . I can hear her calling me as I write this little update.
Thursday evening Lu and I went for a urban ride around the west side we logged 7 miles I rode the Stumpie and Lu trotted beside me . I don't think I will take Lex for that long of a ride again because it is a nonstop jog for her even though is seams like I am not even doing anything . My wife Kim said Lu slept all day today so I think I wore her out . So from now on when I go on a ride around town I should keep it down to not more than 5 miles.
So with that said we went for a walk tonight. A nice relaxing 2 mile walk .
We just got back .

My baby girl just came up to me and asked if we could go get a Mc Flurie from Mickie Ds . And I said sure lets ride The Betty and the Schwinn down there . Thats were I am off to at 10:12pom on a Friday night, sound fun.
Sis, Lu and I just got back with Mc Flurrys in hand and oh yeah Lu got a burger. "No pickles Please"
Well I have decided to reduce my carbon foot print . I might have come to that conclusion because of GAS prices, but anyway I usually make a trip to Safeway every evening for something Butter ,Beer ,Milk ,Beer or something. And I usually take the Van or the truck.
But from now on I will ride my Bike. The Schwinn.
I started Thursday evening and I carried back a bag of stuff in one hand . I said to myself this isn't going to work . So tonight I bought a basket for the Schwinn it works great and it looks cool .

Well really I couldn't be more of a geek But I like it.

Evening in "The A.C."

Well I had good intentions . But I had other commitments.
I talked to 6dogs Monday about helping on trail maintenance tonight and I wanted to help, but do to school getting out today I had other obligations . I felt bad, sheesh I ran into Lester at the top of Creek Trail and ran into the girls at the bottom of Jack Rabbit as I was coming down . The hole crew must of been up there this evening . Don't count me out. I won't flake next time . From what I understand this is a every Wednesday evening thing . I hope so. Sorry.

Evening ride to Nanas

Lu and I rode the West side of Carson and ended up at Nana's house . Lexi hung out with Buzz the Dog while I visited with Nana and DOB.
Nice relaxing urban ride, the wind was not bad at all and with a sweatshirt it was a very comfortable ride. Logged about 5 miles. LuLu cruzes at about 6.7 mph.

Monday Evening

Lu and I headed up to make the loop in The AC
Meet a guy riding up Baldy Green . Come to find out he had just moved back to Carson after being gone for 30 years so I showed him around The AC. I don't think he knew what he was in for . But he made it all the way around Upper Baldy and down Creek Trail . I honestly think it was a little to much . But he was smiling or trying to catch his breath one or the other. But again he made it.

Ride on my Birthday

Well I left just for a cruze around town . So I headed out to the cigar bar to pick up a gift for myself a Hoya Monterey stogy. But they were closed it was 12:10 and they don't open until 1:00, so no smoke for me . I went up King St. to the trail that takes you over to the Mormon church under the C . I spotted a single track heading up the hill so I took it . It must of been a hiking trial because it was straight up the hill . I made it though, had to stop quite a bit but I made it . Well once I crested the hill there was a cut out single track coming down the other side . Down I went, half way down I figured out I was on "The Z". That was cool, I have seen it and had always said, I got to ride that someday. So I finally did. Cool.
After that I explored a little up Kings Canyon and ended up back at "The AC".
Lu stayed home, poor Baby.
Oh , I rode the CFM it rode great .

Summer is HERE

It looks like summer is finally here so its time to break out the boat .
I need to float sooooon.

A quick oil change and new spark plugs this coming week . A home refi, to fill the boat with fuel. And up to the Lake next weekend. LuLu's next favorite thing to do besides Trail running is Boating.

New Stuff for the bike

I have been having problems with my chain skipping and grabbing the front chain ring and not letting go. This makes it very hard to peddle to say the least.
So I changed my chain last weekend . That helped with the skipping ,but my front small chain ring was still grabbing my chain so I took the Stumpie down to the boys at Bike Smiths and they got me right in and replaced my ring . I only had the chance to ride it home from the shop but it seemed to be working fine . We will see today, hopefully, if I can get up to The A.C.

I have been thinking about going on some overnight rides this summer. So I thought maybe a larger back pack or saddle bags ? So I was talking to Mickie at Bike Smiths and he showed me the Bob trailer. Its like "6Dogs" but it has a shock . I think it would be cool to have, but I don't know how much I would use it. Still on the fence about getting it. $400.00 quid


On another note a Mountain biker was added to this planet 47 years ago today. I hope I have another 47 to explore the great out of doors in my future
