The stereo in my sons truck is now in and operating properly. Boom Boom Boom ...........

It dose sound pretty good. It has to be because of the installer not the $$$$$ spent on the system.
Oh well I guess thats why we had kids . To make em happy.

Lots a folks were in The AC yesterday. Stopped and talked to Dogs and Oly. They were out doing re con on the ongoing trail system in The AC . Man you guys are great!
But if you guys are going to keep doing what you were doing when I rode up on you yesterday.

Its the center Chain ring

I figured out what the problem is with my Stump Jumper
The front center chain ring is worn and it is causing my chain to skip , when I am really putting pressure on my peddles. The shop didn't have the ring I needed.

So it looks like I will be riding the Cadex this evening.

The contractors are almost done with the retaining wall at the Rock Drop ,"Log skinny" . Crews have been working day and night for the last month to make sure every rock is in the right place.
With crews of 30 supervisors a hand full of administrators and 1 or 2 Laborers the job is coming right along . If it wasn't for the administrators and supervisors this job would have never gotten as far as it has. Kudos !!
Oh Yeah the laborers should get a little credit. No use tho, they are probably already on another job in the Central Valley somewhere .

I'll send em a post card.

Wow what a week

Yeah I am Still alive. What a week my son is turning 16, school is starting and my 96 GMC died in Reno during my interview for a promotion for work. Yeah I am sitting with this guy tiring to make an impression eating a great steak at the Peppermill and my cell rings, its my wife and kids . They are stuck at the Summit Mall and the truck will not start . So I had to cut the interview short and rescue the family. The guy interviewing me Understood, I think or I hope.
So now the truck is in Reno and needing to be towed. So thats what I did most of Thursday. It only took 6 hours to get a tow truck to the mall to get my truck to the house. Party for the son Saturday night. Only about 30 people showed BBQ and drinks . It was fun but a lot of work. Today I fixed the truck . Only had to remove the bed to get to the fuel filter . While I am doing that the kid had to get his stereo up and running, so all the door panels were off and new sound system was being installed while I was putting in the fuel pump . Oh yeah Did I mention the fuel pump is located in the gas tank . Thanks GMC !!!
Well all and all the truck is fixed and running great and the sound system is close to being done Only $700.00 more dollars and a little more work and Lester will be able to hear my sons stereo from his house. Boom Boom Boom!!!!
Lucky us.

Bike riding what is that like, have not been for 7 days I am starting to shake . Man I hope things slow down so I can get back to The AC.
Oh yeah my bike is not operating properly so I have to get that taken care of Too.. Sheeeesh.

Trail Repair

Climbing up to The AC using my front middle chain ring last night and not enjoying it too much . So I shift down to my small ring and my Chain comes right off . I jump off my bike and put it back on the middle ring and got started again. I shift back down again and Off Goes the chain again. So I thought I better take a closer look and I found I only had one screw holding my small chain ring on, two screws were missing and thank goodness one was hanging on by a thread.
Into my saddle bag I went and out comes the "not so handy park tool" I have had in my bag for years without a need to really utilize it until now. It must of took me 15 minutes to get that screw back in tight with that short tool . Quarter turn, take out the tool from the screw move the tool, quarter turn again and again until both screws were tight .
Needless to say I stayed in my middle ring for the rest of the ride.
I really can't complain about the time it took me to fix the problem out on the trail .
I guess I should be happy I had that "not so handy tool".
I guess the point of the story is don't leave home with out your gear, cuz when you least expect it something is going to happen out on the trail.

I carry a tube ,Tire pry tool, pump ,patch kit, large allen for my cranks, Park tool AKA "not so handy park tool" and a flat head screw driver all in my seat bag.
Oh Yeah a cell phone too, in case I need to be air lifted.

Lets hope that never happens

All Day in front of the TV

It is not very often I will spend a day in front of the TV . But yesterday was a day I went to the Olympics in Beijing .
I really enjoyed the broadcast of the Cycling ,Beach Volleyball, Swimming and Gymnastics.
It was a lot of fun. I never thought I would say watching TV would be fun . But I actually enjoyed it. From Noon yesterday to Midnight I watched TV .
Man I should win a metal for that.

Slowen down on the posts

Can we get more seelings?

Ya know how many times can I post about my evening rides in The AC. It is pretty much a gimmy that is were I will be most of the evenings and weekend mornings. So I think I will have to find something else to write about.
Other than Me and Lu riding in The AC. I won't stop all together but every other day is a little much .
Don"t Ya Think.
Ok now that I got that out of the way.

ME and Lu rode the AC this morning (got ta Love it). Beautiful as usual but there are a couple of things I came across and was thinking about.

First CAMPERS in Vee Cee North Rim, Nice!! Here is a picture of them as I was going up Vee Cee 7steps and the next picture is 2 hrs later when I was coming down. Carson's Finest was just showing up . But the campers must have needed supplies because the silver ride was not there and The fine police officer could not find any one at camp.

Second I stopped on 4 Days to check out the baby pine trees that were planted this spring.

Looken Good!!!!

Wait,...... Green I see green

I found 5 that were actually growing. And the funny thing is, they all were in close proximity to the trail.
Is someone watering those little trees????

Lets keep it up!

Wow what a week, lots of work and no play.

I think this is the first week I haven't been on a ride up to The A. C. in a long time. I finally made it up there this morning. I took 7 steps up. And I only made it up 3 of the seven steps. I actually fell on the top of the armored turn. But that is nothing new, I am always falling on something. No damage to the body this time. I did scratch the stumpie tho.
Not bad but its still a scratch. Oh well.

Their was a few people up there this morning. Two guys were coming down seven steps when I was going up. And there was a lady up on creek trail. She was doing laps up the road and down CT. When I was up there she had two under her belt. And as I started down she was still at it. Nice!

When I was on the way down Jack Rabbit I came be to younger guys fully decked out with MTB gear. They even had on shin gaurds. Hope they are carefull .

I noticed that there was some damage done to the lower section of Jack Rabbit, by a motorcycle. I also noticed all the maintenance that has been done on C.T. and 4 days. Whoever is doing that work sure know what they are doing . I wish I could help but, I can never find out who is doing all that good work??? I sure do enjoy their efforts.

On another note. I was thinking about all the pine seedling that were planted earlier this spring. I think only about 2% of them are still alive. That is just to bad. all that money and time spent planting those trees and no results. So I was thinking. I am going to see if we can put something together that might help those little trees get started and live and grown.

Stay tuned I think my idea might work. I will keep you in the loop.

Nice ride this morning as usual. Man the sky was so blue over C hill it was spectacular.

No smoke finally.
