Man it was Chilly this evening

Chilly and a little breezy, But as alway way nice. The helmet fit great, but I think it had a ball size increaser included in it. Didn't know those helmets came with that.
All joking aside it fit great and I do like it . It does need a little adjusting but I think it will work well on my evening and weekend outings.
I haven't had time to put my new hanger on my other Cadex. I will set aside some time this weekend to see what I will need to set it up as a single speed .
I will take Lester's advice and give it a go, Thanx Les.

On another thought I guess the wind blew another tree down up in The AC yesterday .
Jeff M said, 6Dogs noticed it yesterday. Well when I was up there this evening I thought Dogs Just placed another one of his trail guides on the end of the new upper Creek Trail.
I have said that Dogs is a human Back Hoe.
I guess I am wrong the tree actualy blew down and 6dogs didn't drag it into place. My Bad.

I think my phobia is getting worse I am not safe anywhere look at this picture , Sheesh!! Now I can't go to Coma Coffee when the wind Blows.
I might need therapy ?

Another great ride with my little red dog in "The A.C."

Tuesday Evening

The wind is a blowen so Im not goin

Now I think its a phobia I don't want a tree to fall on me.

I will be riding Wednesday evening though wind or no wind.
Lexi won't let me go longer than three days with out getting her out of the house.
So it will ether be The AC or The V&T.

I broke a hanger on my 1991 Cadex CFM2 last year and I finally got around to locating another, so I will be putting my other Cadex back on the trail in the near future.
I do need a derailer for it. Or I was thinking about making it a single speed, don't know yet any suggestions.

More good news My new helmet is in at Bike Smith I have to go by and pick it up Cool!
Its the new Fox Flux
Now you will not be able to see my head when Iam on Creek Trail because of the CAMO

Tuesday Evening Ride VnT and NEW trail

Well the wind was a blowen.
So I decided to give old V and T trail a go.
It was alright, when I got to the end, I decided to go down to the water towers and climb back up. The trail or road was not bad a little sandy.

LU LU and I got back to the collage bike road and thought well we just haven't had enough so up we went, the north side of the canyon. Up to were the road dumps off in the middle of Timberline Rd. Turned around and back down . I couldn't handle the road so I went straight down into the canyon. Then I had to carry my bike back out . But I was on the right side of the canyon now (SOUTH SIDE of the creek or water retention canyon) low and behold I found a brand new trail with orange flags and everything . So up I went following the flags and replacing the ones that had fallen over I found my self at the top of timber line
trail .
The wind was blowing so now I am afraid.
Let me clarify Since I talked to Jeff P.
Now Iam worried a dead burnt tree is going to blow over and KILL ME .
Needless to say I turned around and headed back down to Winnie Lake.
Another great ride on the West slopes of Carson City NV.
LIFE IS GOOD!

The last snow of the season

Ok it's 4-20 That actually meant something 20 years ago or was it 30 years ago? See thats the problem it lingers. Or maybe it's old age any how.
It snowed this morning, Cool to bad I am on Call or I would of been up skiing with the kid. Next weekend looks like the last weekend to go, so thats were we will be Saturday making turns one last time of the season.

Great ride this afternoon lots a things to talk about so lets get started.

  • Don't ya think we should plant the pine trees after the sheep might be a good idea next time?!!
  • Ok I didn't know you guys were serious about the Mint Jelly!
  • Last snow of the season.
  • I had to let her have a little fun.
  • Its all in the foot work.
  • Wow The new upper trail to Creek Trail is super but this part right at the start is TOUGH!!!
  • At The top of the upper trail to Creek Trail I am going straight down to Ash Canyon Road . If Ya find a body its mine.
How about a little Help on Trail names.
If Ya could Comment and let me know what the name of the upper trail that ends at Creek Trail and Were is Seven steps to Heaven?
any info would be greatly appreciated
THANKS Jeff

Dog Poop Everywhere

My bikes back shock blew a seal. (I told it to stay away from the ocean, but you know how Shocks are.)

So from what I understand they have a seal kit to rebuild it. The guy at the shop said that only one out of a hundred of these Fox Triad shocks go bad and it is usually in the first year. He also said they should last for the life of the bike. I don't know, but I hope so, because those shocks are around $400.00 to replace.

The shop called last night and said my bike is ready to go.

So I am back in business.

I took out my Cadex last night for an evening ride. I forgot how fast that bike is and how hard it is to stop with the old caliper brakes. It was an enjoyable ride though.

I took my old road and dirt ride up around Winnie, Ash Canyon to King behind the houses back on King up and over to the Mormon Church ,up the little trail under the C and back home 9 miles very Quick .

We are all complaining about the sheep poop in A.C.T. right. Well on the foot trail behind the Church under the C the people that walk their dogs up there. Don't curb em or pick up after them. The trail is littered with Dog Poop worse than the sheep poop up A.C.T.

I could not believe it, what a mess. Land mines EVERYWHERE.

In California sitting in a hotel room with nothing to do, but read my FN Blog. I really should of brought my bike. I mapped out a evening ride but I thought I wouldn't have time. Man was I wrong.
Work just brings me down.
If I can't go out on my bike with my sweet little dog to clear my head.I think I would loose it.
O wellI will be back home tomorrow. I hope I will have enough energy to go for a ride.
It is a long drive So we will see.
Well thats all I got

WoW !!!
The weather was FN great today .
What a great ride. I took a bunch of pictures and I am sure I will use most of them for this site. Creek trail was great as usual, There was a bunch of people out today probably because it almost hit 70 degrees. I saw Dr Long and his wife Terry up walking there dog on the ash Canyon trail. They were enjoying the nice weather.
Rode past Roger again second time this week . I wonder if I will be running into him a lot this summer? Who knows and who really cares. Well here are a few photos from the ride.

571 Miles loged

Yesterday rode the Ash Canyon trail up to the tree were Deer Run intersects then went down to the road and rode up to the Creek trail the wind was brisk and it was kind of chilly but if you keep moving it's all good . Wow the creek trail is still a great ride. I love it, man what a FN blast! At the bottom of the trail, instead of going down to the road I am riding across the top and the over to the road so I don't have to ride up that steep part of the road after finishing the creek trail . I like it then I have enough energy to ride back up to Deer Run and then the down hill all the way to Winnie Lake. O yah I think it was Monday I rode the same track but at the bottom of the ride right before the collage bike road there is a jump at the end of the trail sooooo, I kept my speed up an Ya you got it Lets get some real air .... Ya right I got real air But I didn't land it Down I went face first thank God its soft and sandy or I would have road rash from the top of my four head to my Chin. I do have a brous the size of a dinner salad plate on my right upper thigh .

Ok The snow is all but gone

Been riding Ash Canyon for the past 3-4 weeks all the snow is all but gone. The creek trail is dry and very ridable. Its around 2 mile up the canyon and it is a great ride best in the area that I know of but I am still a major rookie. I will start keeping up on my post and maybe I will have something worth reading But right now I I am still learning what other people would like to read .
So for now its basicly my own little jornal . I dont mind I can always read it to LuLu

Wind Blew so hard Friday April 4th

April 4th The wind was gusting more than 40MPH Blowing me around like a piece of paper . There was no way I could ride up Ash Canyon so Lex and I went over to V and T and rode that trail for the first time in months . it was pretty easy. Great though lots of fun just not long or hard enough. Somebody has been riding it a lot because they have rode out a trail next to the road . I tried to follow it but it isn't ridden out enough . Still pretty fun . I made it up the steap climb for the first time ever but the wind was blowing at my back . I think that might have helped me up alittle .
I guess I will have to go back and try it when the wind is'nt blowing 100MPH.

Snow is still up in the canyon but it is Ridable

Started riding Ash Canyon at the beginning of Feb. There was still quite a bit of snow up there . But not enough to slow me down. The Creek trail was definitely not ridable that early in Feb. But the canyon trail and Deer Run trail were ridable except for a few places . I had to walk across three or so drifts or places the sun just can't get to. It was alot of fun no one around and I got first tracks of the season which I think is very Cool
