The AC...... Man what a Great place to Ride . Thank You!!

Well a lot of work has been done up in The AC this summer.

4 day is complete and very rider Friendly.

Seven Steps is a great ride Up or Down.

The Creek Trail well what can I say!!!!!

Save The Wet Lands

The Great Wall

Skid on This before you cross the Creek

Steps that Just appeared

Don't come up this trail unless you can fit.

The newest addition to The AC The Lower Connector.

I Can make it around this turn I swear

I Just Want To Say, Thank You...... gentlemen!
Jobs Well Done !!!!

Rider Safety

Man you would think that after schooling the local kids about rider safety. You wouldn't' see Jason on Lower connector with no helmet. Obviously he also needs to get some advice on sizing his own bike.

Congratulation on the Rodeo Saturday!
You guys are doing a great Public service!

1000 miles and some Stats

Saturday I was keeping a close eye on my odometer because, I was going to reach a personal milestone.
I broke the 1000 mile mark on my Stumpjumper.

So I took a little time to log the mileage of a few of the trails in The AC.
This is what I came up with.
All stats are rounded to the tenth of a mile.

1) From the trail head at the bike path above the collage up Vee Cee Canyon, 7 Steps and Deer Run to the bottom of Baldy Green is "2 miles".

2)Up Baldy Green to the armored switch back is ".4 miles".

3) From the Armored Switch Back up to the top of Mikes 4 Day ".5 miles".

Note: between the top of 4Day and the top of Creek Trail is ".2 miles".

4) The Creek Trail top to bottom "1.2 miles"

5) New Lower Connector from Creek Trail to Deer Run ".5 miles".

6) "Loop Ride" From Deer Run were the lower connector intersects with Deer Run, Baldy and around 4Day. Down Creek Trail and up lower connector back to Deer Run is. "3.2 miles".

Lower Connector Trail

Well the lower connector trail is getting much easier to ride these days. Now that more people are riding it in. I actually stayed on a single track for the entire section.
Now that this new section of The AC is very rider friendly, I am starting to miss Deer Run and Root challenge. So I think I will mix it up a little so I can enjoy both single tracks during my evening rides.

Saturday would be a good time for a Brew Crawl or Roll, at least on my calendar.
What do you guys think?

Harvest Moon Ride

Well if I could read I would not have made the climb into The AC by myself last night.
I got home from the daily grind around 5:20 and got ready for the Harvest Moon ride last night. I was pressed for time, because I thought we were going to start at 6:00. (that is were the reading comment comes in) start time was 6:30. I needed a beer for the beer swap. I only had a small keg of Keystone in the fridge. So if I wanted to make it down from the ride in one piece I need to get a respectable brew, so off to the store Lu and I went 5:50pm. We were out of time after the visit to the beer store so we drove up to the entrance of Winnie Lake and started there. We made it on time 6:00 pm. I hustled up to the bike path above the collage ,but there was no one there. 6:02pm. I was late . I looked up Postal I couldn't see anyone so I thought to myself The E-mail said V&T so I headed up to the start of the V&T trail north of the collage. No one was there ether, so back to the bottom of Postal, still no one around. I must of missed them or it was a big joke on me. "Lets get Roger up on the hill late with no light".
Well I was there so up we went stopping every so often to look around to see if anyone was coming up but no one ANYWHERE. Now its 6:40 or so and we were at LuLu Lagoon. Hay I know we will go back down 4Days and see if anyone was coming up so off we went again down 4 Days, but no one anywhere. So down Baldy and Deer Run.... still no one .
Oh well it was a good ride I said to Lu. Lets take 7 steps and go home.

What do ya know at the top of 7 steps here they come Jeff P. Jeff M. and Ray.
Hay ROG are you ready? Jeff M. said.
I anserwed with a little hesitation, Yeah I guess.
So off we went back up to LuLu Lagoon via Deer Run, Baldy and 4Days. It was fun, and by the time we got to the bottom of Baldy the Moon was rising over the eastern horizon. Wow what a sight. It was a spectacular Harvest Moon, very cool.
By the time we got to the Lagoon it was DARK.
So much for "you will only need a light for the ride home on the city streets".
Thank goodness for the two Jeff's they had 1,000,000 candle power lights on there head and handle bars so we could see just fine, well sorta. It was way to dark to even think about taking Creek Trail down so we decided to take the road to the top of Deer Run.
To end the ride we stopped at the top of 7 Steps and Swapped beers and enjoyed the view.
I think fun was had by all.

THE FIRST ANNUAL HARVEST MOON RIDE is in the books.

Lu Lu was a great trail dog the whole ride. She stayed on Jeff M.s tail the entire ride .
I think it had something to do with cookies.

Lot of fun was had by all can't wait for next year!!!

Next time I will have a light!
Peace

Harvest Moon Ride Tonight

I think it is the first annual Harvest Moon Ride if I am not mistaken.

Here is the information:
"sound like it will be a lot of fun"

Our journey will take us to the Great Wall and Skid On This. We will also ride the new M.O.T singletrack (Mike's Other Trail).

There is no entry fee, but if you would like to be involved in the beer swap, it would be a good idea to bring along one brew for the exchange.

Lights should only be necessary for the ride home on city streets.

Mo, Sluggo and Waneta are gone!!

There is no trace of our campers on Creek Trail this evening. But I did notice a clue, of maybe who they are. The old triple chair was up there . You know the one that was hanging on the lone tree at the top of Jack Rabbit all winter last year. If you turn left and go like you are exit Creek Trail up the Double track to the fire road it is right at the base were the Dbl track flattens out to the left. Ya can't miss it. So if anyone knows who the old chair lift belongs to . It is a good chance we will know who are campers are.
I think they were Kids fresh out of High School lookin to do a little Partying before the cold weather sets in.

Man we are a bunch a Kill Joys.

Peace

Campers in The AC

I ran up to Creek Trail and got a picture of our campers.

Wow The New Lower Creek Trail Section is Not Easy!

Man the new lower section of Creek Trail is a ball buster. I only put my foot down 4 or 5 times. It never fails I smoke through 7 Steps all the way up. But this little climb out of Creek Trail . Is Killer.
I Need A Little Work, I will get it . It is something new to work on during my rides.
Just another challenge in The A.C.. Holy Molly.
Nice!!!!

It doesn't get much better than now.

The temperatures are perfect and there is no wind to speak of. What great conditions for mountain Biking. My chain ring issues are all gone and the Stumpie is working great. Lu Lu is also enjoying the cooler temps. she is not going though as much water as she was when the temperatures were higher. And I like that, because it leaves a little more water for my favorite pine tree on 4Days.
He is coming back from certain death with a little help from a concerned MTBr.
Most of the seedling that I counted are doing fine with out any addition help. But this little tree was done, when I came across it and now there is a little more green and I think he is coming back . Cool.

Yo Yo Lester

Evening Ride the wind I thought wasn't blowing when I left the house but man it sure was hard getting up the hill today. I can't blame it on the swill from last night, cuz I didn't have any.
My loop was backwards today . Up The CT and down 4 Days , Baldy and 7steps. I ran into Lester on his single speed and a back pack full of work cloths,or he was planning on spending the night up there. He's tough!
Dude I can barely haul my water up The AC.
Watch out for Bigfoot in Fleece!!!!

Labor Day Ride

Nice Day,
Wow, temps. were perfect for a ride.
Sheeesh I actually got a little chill at the top of Baldy Green.
A lot of foot traffic on Creek trail this afternoon. I stopped and talked to an older guy fishing the creek . He said he had just started and had caught one already.
Rainbow, Not Brook . Get it right Rog.
I also saw two people trying to get close to the creek in the wrong place. I am sure they figured out there is better access a little father up the trail.
One was on the phone. Must a been pretty important. What a great way to F up a walk in such a beautiful place . Talk on the phone.
But what ever. DON'T Care.
Yee Ha !!!!
