Merry Christmas

Christmas cheer and cherished memories. This is the second Christmas without my loving father Earl T. and there hasn't been a day that has gone by that I haven't thought of him in one way or the other. Things are still changing in our life's as we move into 2010 the house my daughter has spent her entire life  in and the house my son grew up in will only be a memory for all of us as well, we will be leaving the Wagner house in 2010. This home has been in my family since 1963 and I have spent 30 years of my life in this small but very wonderful home. She has given my family warmth and a ton of cherished memories. This old gal will also be missed.
Life however goes on without family members and cherished possessions.
The pages in my family's life have been turning quite quickly and I am sure my entire family is looking forward to the pages slowing down a bit in this next decade. But it will still be a page turner I am sure, with both the kids going to collage and starting their own family's in the years to come.

The last shopping weekend before Christmas and I will be involved in the shopping frenzy. Who's with me?
I would imagine I will not be alone at the mall.
I only have to buy gifts for EVERYONE I KNOW IN ONE DAY. E-yicks!!!!!

Snow in The AC

I Finally get to stay home for a week and there is too much snow to ride my bike so... Lu and I headed up to The AC on foot. Holy Moly walking though a foot of heavy wet snow is harder than riding up in dry conditions. We made it to the big tree below Seven Steps and had enough. Great work out and beautiful view of C Hill and Kings Canyon.

Up and over the summit twice this week.

I took this picture while driving behind a very cautious driver 20MPH YICKS..... atop Echo Summit on Tuesday.  The roads are worse in Carson than they are on 50 at 7500 feet. Nice job Cal Trans. Coming home I left downtown San Francisco at 12:30 and arrived home at 5:20 not bad for rain and snow the whole way.  It started snowing at the Y in South Lake 4pm and the driving conditions got very sketchy quite quickly.  NO Chains from South Lake to Carson in the Blue mini van.... slow going for the last hour of my five hour commute.  the temperature in South Lake was 33 degrees the last two turns coming down 50 the temp dropped to 26. Can you say INVERSION wow I don't think I have ever seen a temp drop like that. Spent a little time in Pacifica on Wednesday the swells were coming in and two guys were out taking full advantage of the waves.

Did a little time in the Cupertino hills

So I am stuck at a Courtyard Marriott in Cupertino Ca with my bike. Its 3pm and I have no idea where to ride so after about 30 minutes on single track fn .Com I had a plan. So off I went into the East Bay hills of California . I actually found the spot I was directed to and got on my bike and with a little hesitation off I went. Very cool . Here are some more pictures. I wish I would of taken a picture of the Mountain Lion warning sign... But didn't I will be back tho so i will bring it to you next week if I have the time.

Well spent my week in SF rode across the Golden Gate and around the area. It was quite the experience, however the car exhaust was a challenge at 5:30 pm other than needing a gas mask while riding it was pretty cool. Here are some pictures from my Iphone.

Thanksgiving and The A.C.T.

Well the trails are in great shape in The AC and the weather is good for riding. The problem is elliptical training machines don't keep you in the shape you need to be in, to make it to the top of Mikes. Lu and myself are feeling the effects of the climb Monday. I'm not sore, it was just a effort to get there. It looks like we will be up again today. WoW twice in three days will we survive? I am sure we will. The benefits of the ride today will be clearing the head which is needed from the corporate life. And burning as many calories as I can for dinner tonight.

I remember two years ago Lex and I were up in The AC on Thanksgiving around 10 am it was a day like today no clouds and cool. We were on our descent, right before Jack Rabbit coming around the lower hill and we came across a group of 7 to 10 riders coming up. I went off trail around them slowing only a little. I remember this guy giving me the brown eye stare. It was Dogs, ya know how he gets when you ride off trail. I didn't know all the rules and regulation of The AC at the time. " Sorry Dogs" Great memory of The AC on Thanksgiving. I wonder if I will see any groups up there this morning?

Fun filled week in "The City"
Yeah, I know... nobody likes calling San Fransisco "The City". But it is quite The City beauty... abound WoW.
I am really lucky to be able to spend my days downtown SF from the Embarcadero to Stonetown. It is ..."well a world class City" Pretty cool.

Wow Last post was July!!!

Summer is over and Fall is in full swing. Been up and down the west coast week in and week out. The AC is still a big part of my weekends. But Marriott gyms seem to be my main source of exercise. That is a tight and stuffy place to sweat but what do ya do.....
Both of the kids are attending the Homecoming dance this evening. The boy is sporting a Corvette and my daughter is attending the dance with one of her BFF's. LuLu is getting a little gray around her eyes and mouth but she still has the get up and go to make the loop up in the AC. Here are some photos of the last couple of months.
